Georgia’s Ministry of Internal Affairs detains two Chinese citizens for stealing $7,800 and €4,450 aboard an aircraft

Georgian law enforcement officers have detained two Chinese citizens on theft charges, the IPN news agency reports. According to the Ministry of Internal Affairs, the suspects illegally seized $7,800 and €4,450 belonging to two passengers during a flight.

“Law enforcement officers, acting swiftly following operational measures and investigative actions, soon identified the perpetrators and detained them at the airport as suspects.

Law enforcement officers seized the stolen money as physical evidence.

An investigation is underway under Part 4 of Article 177 of the Criminal Code, which carries a penalty of up to 10 years of imprisonment,” the Ministry of Internal Affairs said in a statement.
