Prime Minister of Georgia Irakli Kobakhidze met with UN Resident Coordinator in Tbilisi Didier Trebucq. According to the Cabinet Administration, the parties discussed a five-year framework agreement, cooperation between the Government of Georgia and UN agencies, as well as the human rights situation and humanitarian environment in the occupied territories of Georgia.
“Attention was focused on the importance of joint efforts in implementing the UN Sustainable Development Cooperation Framework for 2026–2030. It was noted that the five-year framework agreement, on the one hand, is based on national priorities, and on the other, reflects the UN Sustainable Development Goals.
During the meeting, the long-standing fruitful experience of cooperation between the Government of Georgia and UN agencies was emphasized, which has contributed to strengthening the country’s institutional capacity and carrying out consistent reforms.
The parties discussed the situation regarding human rights protection and the humanitarian environment in the occupied territories of Georgia. The important role of the UN in protecting the rights of the conflict-affected population was highlighted,” the statement reads.
