The First Lady of Georgia, Tamar Bagrationi, participated in the 6th Summit of First Ladies and Gentlemen taking place in Kyiv via video address. The global platform is an initiative of Olena Zelenska, the wife of Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy, which has brought together the spouses of world leaders since 2021.
The theme of this year’s summit was “World 2026: In Search of Stability in Times of Uncertainty.” Alongside Olena Zelenska, First Lady of Lithuania Diana Nausėdienė and First Gentleman of Slovenia Aleš Musar attended the opening ceremony held at the Kyiv-Pechersk Lavra.
This was the first time Georgia took part in the event.
The Georgian President’s Administration told Radio Free Europe/Radio Liberty that Tamar Bagrationi “congratulated Ukraine and the Ukrainian people on the 35th anniversary of independence, wishing them peace, well-being, and prosperity,” and also “reaffirmed Georgia’s support for Ukraine’s sovereignty and territorial integrity.”
According to Bagrationi, Georgia’s historical experience serves as a clear example that “the foundation of state resilience is the preservation of national values.”
“Our national identity rests upon seven eternal pillars: God, Motherland, humanity, language, fatherland, faith, and family. Formed through centuries of struggle, these principles are deeply rooted in our genetic code,” Tamar Bagrationi stated.
The First Lady described the strength of the family as one of the most vital guarantors of Georgia’s historical continuity, emphasizing that “love for the Motherland and for God originates precisely within the family.”
