Mamuka Mamulashvili, commander of the Georgian National Legion, has responded to Georgia’s former Prosecutor General Otar Romanov-Partskhaladze, who claimed that fighters on Ukraine’s side are war criminals and must stand trial in a Russian court.
In an interview with the TV Pirveli channel, Mamulashvili stated that Partskhaladze would not intimidate anyone with his threats:
“Russia has designated the Georgian Legion as a terrorist organization. Numerous disinformation campaigns have been launched against the Georgian Legion. <…> They are directly declaring war on us; we see that they are forming battalions specifically to fight us.
As for Partskhaladze’s babble, we cannot take it seriously. But Partskhaladze himself will certainly be punished. It is ridiculous that a civilian is trying to intimidate a military unit,” Mamulashvili noted.
In turn, Dmitry Chitishvili, commander of unmanned aerial systems for the Georgian Legion, stated that the threat from the collaborator who fled to Moscow “is merely a sign that the enemy is suffering most from the drones brought down by them.”
According to the fighter, history does not forgive traitors, and Partskhaladze will face his punishment.
“He serves a regime that we are destroying every day, so while he makes threats on television, we are doing our job.”
Lado Gamsakhurdia, commander of the Caucasus Legion, also commented on the former Georgian prosecutor general’s statement. He believes Russia is turning Partskhaladze into a political project rather than a military one—“as a counterweight to us, as if Georgians are fighting on Russia’s side.” According to him, “they could lure people from Georgia and provoke unrest.”
