“Everything that is encoded in our genetics, absolutely all of it is preserved by our government: our traditions, culture, our identity, faith. We are defending our homeland, language, and faith,” declared Levan Machavariani, an MP from the ruling Georgian Dream party, during an address at a parliamentary plenary session.
According to the lawmaker, Georgia has never been as sovereign and independent as it is today since the restoration of its independence.
“Making higher education free was an unprecedented decision, something that had never happened before. The steps we are taking now also include the abolition of property tax. The 40,000 lari threshold is being removed, freeing roughly 80,000 of our fellow citizens from this tax burden. Furthermore, regarding the pension contribution amnesty, amendments are set to take effect that lift this tax pressure from numerous companies. These are precisely the measures that follow economic growth.
I would also like to highlight a key agenda priority facing our country today: we are restoring Georgia’s historic role in terms of transport connectivity. Fueled by economic growth, we are fostering infrastructure development. Is all of this being done for ourselves? All of this is being done for our children, for our future generations.”
According to Machavariani, Georgia is reclaiming its historic function “in ensuring connectivity within the Middle Corridor.” He noted that Georgians are “a nation with an unbroken 30-century genetic code.” “And the overwhelming majority of citizens correctly understand that the sole guarantor of peace and stability in this country is Georgian Dream under the leadership of Bidzina Ivanishvili,” the lawmaker concluded.
