Official spokesperson for the Russian Foreign Ministry Maria Zakharova has invited Georgian youth to visit Russia so they can find answers for themselves regarding bilateral relations between the two countries.
In her statement, Zakharova noted that today the “price of truth” is merely the cost of a plane ticket. She recommended that visitors check out local theaters and museums, as well as compare where Georgian cuisine is tastier—in Tbilisi or Moscow.
“You know how they say that truth is priceless. I won’t argue with that; it truly is priceless. But this specific fragment, this piece of the truth, can indeed be priced. Do you know how much it costs? It costs just the price of a ticket from Georgia to Russia. Come and see for yourselves. Talk to our citizens. Visit our theaters, museums, and, by the way, restaurants. You can compare where Georgian cuisine is better—in Tbilisi or Moscow.”
Notably, Zakharova made this statement in response to a question from Mamuka Pipia, a pro-Russian politician from Georgia, who asked whether the Russian Foreign Ministry was ready to “assist” Georgian youth “in their search for objective information.”
Zakharova pointed out that following the waiver of the visa requirement between Russia and Georgia in May 2023, barriers to seeking answers to such questions “no longer exist.” She also claimed that “Western propaganda” is doing everything possible to ensure that people in Georgia do not believe in the goodwill felt toward them by Russians.
