The FBI’s New York Field Office posted photographs on social media platform X of an individual extradited from Georgia, remarking on him being brought to justice after a ten-year manhunt.
According to the report, Davud Ansariy, a citizen of Uzbekistan and a naturalized US citizen, will be arraigned today in federal court in Brooklyn.
He is accused of conspiracy to provide material support, as well as providing material support, to the Islamic State (ISIS) and al-Nusra Front terrorist organizations.
The post notes that Ansariy’s extradition from Georgia to the Eastern District of New York took place on September 23, 2026, following his detention there in August 2026.
Davud Ansariy fled the United States to Turkey in 2016 and had been wanted ever since. As part of cooperation between the Prosecutor’s Office of Georgia and the US Department of Justice, Georgian law enforcement agencies detained the suspect on the country’s territory and transferred him to the United States in accordance with established procedures.
The US Department of Justice expressed its gratitude to the Prosecutor’s Office of Georgia for its cooperation, assistance in combating terrorism, and the apprehension of the wanted individual.
