Female members of the United National Movement (UNM) party staged a performance protest outside the residence of Bidzina Ivanishvili, billionaire and founder of the ruling Georgian Dream party, the IPN news agency reported. The main slogan was: “Bidzina, don’t kill our children!”
As UNM leader Ana Tsitlidze stated, “Bidzina Ivanishvili has turned this country into a massive haven for drug pushers, because he himself is the country’s chief pusher, protecting the drug trade and killing our youth day after day.”
“These syringes are a symbol of Bidzina Ivanishvili’s rule. With these syringes and drugs, Bidzina Ivanishvili is killing dozens of our young people every day. Here is just a brief statistical overview for the citizens of Georgia to illustrate: on March 20, 2026, a 26-year-old young man died of an overdose; on April 30, a 23-year-old; on May 15, four young people. In June–July 2026 alone, 10 young people died from overdoses. In September, two 21-year-olds died of an overdose in Tbilisi, and a week ago, 16- and 17-year-old girls were detained for working as drug couriers. This is the reality Bidzina Ivanishvili has brought about.
Drugs do not choose political affiliation, nor do they look at whose child it is—a supporter of the National Movement or Georgian Dream; they kill our children all the same,” IPN quoted Tsitlidze as saying.
According to the opposition politician, the authorities’ actions are “exterminating the Georgian gene pool.”
“We came here today—mothers, women, grandmothers, and sisters driven to despair by the fact that their children cannot feel safe in this country. Bidzina Ivanishvili must know: these syringes as a symbol of his rule, of the destruction of the Georgian gene pool, and of Georgian girls and boys poisoned by drugs—this is something he will never get away with.
While lecturing us about Orthodoxy and Christianity, he must realize that he himself is the country’s chief pusher, making millions of lari off our children’s deaths: while his own children revel in luxury, he poisons ours with drugs. Today, we declare to the country’s chief pusher: do not kill our children!” Ana Tsitlidze stated.
