Georgia’s Economy Grew by 7.6% in January–August

According to preliminary estimates from the National Statistics Office of Georgia (Geostat), real gross domestic product (GDP) grew by 6.3% year-on-year in August 2026, while the average growth rate for the first eight months reached 7.6%.

Geostat also reported that in August 2026, compared to the corresponding period of the previous year, significant contributions to growth were made by the following sectors: manufacturing, information and communication, financial and insurance activities, real estate activities, trade, as well as transportation and storage.

A downward trend was recorded in the construction sector.
