Georgian figure skaters have won two gold medals at the international Trialeti Trophy tournament currently taking place in Batumi.
Diana Davis and Gleb Smolkin emerged victorious in ice dance. Following their win in the rhythm dance, the Georgian duo earned 123.44 points for their free dance, clinching first place with an overall total of 208.67 points. This marks a career-best score for Davis and Smolkin.
Nika Egadze captured gold in men’s singles. Having also led after the short program, he scored 168.85 points in the free skate, bringing his total score to 262.65 points.
The Trialeti Trophy is part of the ISU Challenger Series, a prominent international figure skating competition circuit. This year, the event is being held from October 1 to October 4 at the Batumi ice arena. The tournament features four disciplines: men’s and women’s singles, pair skating, and ice dance, bringing together competitors from approximately 30 countries.
In pair skating, another Georgian duo, Anastasia Metelkina and Luka Berulava, currently lead after the short program. They posted a score of 80.01 points, marking their personal best in the short program. The pairs will perform their free skate on October 3.
