Kaladze: The EU’s Main Goal Is to Bring Its Network of Agents to Power in Georgia

Tbilisi Mayor and one of the leaders of the ruling Georgian Dream party, Kakha Kaladze, stated that he has “absolutely no interest” in the meeting of EU foreign ministers in Luxembourg, where the situation in Georgia is being discussed among other matters. According to him, “all of their statements are based on injustice and lies.”

“If you hand a map to [EU foreign policy chief] Kaja Kallas, she would not be able to show where Georgia is. Any reasonable person with a balanced view of current developments, who does not resort to political speculation, recognizes the significance of Georgia. In this specific case, we understand what the overarching plan is: to bring representatives of their network of agents to power in the country by any means necessary, in order to then exploit the country for their own interests and force it to do whatever they please, just as is happening in Ukraine.”

According to the mayor, Georgia is an advanced country in terms of its geographical location and in many other respects.

“Let’s look at our economic and democratic development in recent years, at our freedom of speech and expression. But not freedom of speech in the sense that suits them, where one can use profanities, insult, and harass people who hold a different point of view. If you think differently, they simply bulldoze you. For them, that is democracy, but for us, it is not. Everyone should have freedom of speech, expression, and equal opportunities, and that is precisely the kind of country we are building,” Kaladze concluded.
