Four defendants in the “October 4 case” — Murtaz Zodelava, Lasha Beridze, Irakli Chkhvirkvia, and Guri Zhvania — have submitted a written request to the prosecutor’s office. “Each of them admitted guilt, expressed sincere remorse, and requested a plea bargain,” stated prosecutor Vazha Todua.
According to him, a court hearing will be scheduled in about two weeks to approve the agreement reached with the defendants.
“The convicted individuals Murtaz Zodelava, Lasha Beridze, Irakli Chkhvirkvia, and Guri Zhvania admitted guilt, expressed remorse for the criminal acts committed, and submitted an application to us to conclude a plea bargain. The prosecution reviewed this request, granted it, and at today’s hearing presented the relevant motion and minutes for sentencing without a trial on the merits. Each document was signed by the convicts. These materials have been submitted to the court to sever the case against them into separate proceedings,” the prosecutor stated.
