European Parliament President Roberta Metsola has urged the people of Georgia not to give up and to continue the fight for their country’s European future. She made the remarks ahead of the European Council summit in Brussels.
“Do not give up. The European Union will always remain open to those who look toward it with hope — that is what we say to all countries,” Metsola stated in response to a question from Euroscope.
The head of the European Parliament also noted that the EU is looking to accelerate the accession process based on the individual merits and achievements of each country: “That is precisely why we maintain dialogue with all states,” Roberta Metsola added.
