“The inept dictator will not be able to ban parties! And if he has truly gone so mad as to do it, he will instantly slit his own throat,” stated Georgia’s third president, Mikheil Saakashvili. This was his response to the ruling Georgian Dream party’s plans to ban the pro-Western opposition.
As Saakashvili wrote on his Facebook page, “the dictator’s collaborationist, ‘pathetic’ policy toward Mother Russia has landed in deep trouble.”
“The inept dictator will not be able to ban any parties! And if he has truly gone so mad that he does this, he will slit his own throat in a heartbeat. The collaborationist, ‘pathetic’ policy toward his Mother Russia has already run into huge trouble as it is. The latter didn’t appreciate it, and the very foundation that kept him in power until now is literally crumbling down upon his head,” Saakashvili added.
As a reminder, the Constitutional Court’s proceedings on Georgian Dream’s lawsuit to ban five opposition parties begin on October 21. The authorities intend to declare unconstitutional Mikheil Saakashvili’s United National Movement, as well as the Coalition for Change, Strong Georgia (Lelo), the Federalists, and Gakharia For Georgia.
