Khvicha Kvaratskhelia, the Georgia national team and Paris Saint-Germain forward, has sustained a cruciate ligament injury to his right knee. The Parisian club confirmed the news in an official statement.
The European heavyweights also reported that Kvaratskhelia will undergo surgery in the coming days, followed by an extended period of rehabilitation. The forward sustained the injury during a Champions League group stage match against Barcelona, in which he was substituted in the 59th minute.
The current campaign is Kvaratskhelia’s second with PSG, following his move from Napoli in the winter of 2025. The previous campaign was one of the most successful of the Georgian international’s career, culminating in him being named the Champions League Player of the Season and earning a nomination for the prestigious Ballon d’Or award.
In the 2026/27 season, the player has made 11 appearances for PSG across all competitions, scoring two goals and providing one assist.
