The “Unity of Russians and Georgians” foundation will be established in Russia. The organization’s founding ceremony is scheduled to take place on October 28 at Moscow’s President Hotel. This was reported to the MIR-Info news outlet by Mamuka Pipia, leader of the pro-Kremlin movement “Solidarity for Peace.”
According to him, the co-founders of the foundation are Otar Romanov-Partskhaladze (former Chief Prosecutor of Georgia) and Nikolay Kartozia. Pipia himself will serve as the foundation’s chairman.
“The three of us decided to create it, and together we will carry this work forward. In recent years, our actions have been aimed at bringing our peoples closer and restoring trust between them. The foundation, which we will officially present on October 28, is a continuation of this effort.”
According to Pipia, the new entity will launch its operations with joint trade and economic initiatives and investment promotion. Plans also include youth and student exchange programs, cultural and humanitarian forums, and the development of dedicated media resources.
“Our partners in Russia and Georgia include business representatives, diplomats, expert communities, and government authorities who are open to constructive dialogue and joint efforts addressing the tasks facing our nations,” the pro-Kremlin politician stated.
Mamuka Pipia noted that over the years, “a great deal of harm was done on both sides to divide our peoples.” Yet, people still “gravitate toward one another”:
“And thank God, because we share the same faith; we are brothers in Christ. I believe God did not place such a vast Russia next to Georgia for us to quarrel, let alone go to war.”
