Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze met with the Secretary General of the Council of Europe, Alain Berset. The parties paid particular attention to the fruitful cooperation between Georgia and the Council of Europe.
Kobakhidze reaffirmed the Georgian authorities’ readiness for dialogue and constructive cooperation in both bilateral and multilateral formats.
“The Georgian side expressed concern over the growing trend of using international mechanisms for politically motivated purposes and expressed hope that this practice will be changed.
The Georgian government’s commitment to protecting fundamental freedoms, implementing democratic reforms, and ensuring the rule of law was emphasized,” the Government Administration said in a statement.
The meeting was also attended by Vice Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Maka Bochorishvili and Head of the Government Administration Levan Zhorzholiani.
