The Minister noted that the intensification of contacts by Kyiv is linked to Georgia’s growing role as a transit and connectivity hub in the region. Bochorishvili stated that many countries today require relations with Tbilisi and interaction through Georgian territory, and in her view, the Ukrainian side may share these interests.

The Foreign Minister also indicated that she considers Kyiv’s previous attitude toward Georgia unfair. At the same time, according to her, changes have been noticeable in Ukrainian rhetoric recently, including in the tone of criticism.

“When you see an unfair attitude, unrealistic comments, resolutions, and steps, it is difficult to forget all of that in a single day,” Bochorishvili said on air of the sanctioned Imedi TV.

The Minister added that changes would not happen quickly, but expressed hope that over time, the improvement in relations would be confirmed by concrete actions rather than just statements.

As a reminder, a meeting between Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze and Volodymyr Zelenskyy took place in Yerevan on May 4 on the sidelines of the European Political Community summit. According to the Georgian Government Administration, the communication was initiated by the Ukrainian side. The meeting was also attended by the heads of the foreign ministries of Georgia and Ukraine – Maka Bochorishvili and Andrii Sybiha.
