NATO Special Representative for the Caucasus and Central Asia Kevin Hamilton paid a working visit to Georgia on May 7–8. During the visit, the Alliance representative met with Georgian Foreign Minister Maka Bochorishvili, Defense Minister Irakli Chikovani, and Deputy Foreign Minister Lasha Darsalia.
It was noted that the parties discussed the support NATO provides to Georgia in the areas of defense, reforms, and enhancing interoperability with the Alliance. Specifically, they addressed joint programs and cooperation initiatives between NATO and Georgia.
The military-political bloc stated that Allies continue to urge Tbilisi to implement and deepen reforms, including in the field of democratic governance. NATO emphasized that this remains a vital part of Georgia’s Euro-Atlantic integration process.

During the visit, Hamilton also met with representatives of civil society, diplomats from Allied nations, and staff from the NATO Liaison Office in Georgia. He visited the NATO-Georgia Joint Training and Evaluation Center (JTEC).
The North Atlantic Alliance separately noted the Special Representative’s visit to the administrative boundary line near the occupied Tskhinvali region.
The military-political bloc stated that this confirms support for Georgia’s sovereignty and territorial integrity within its internationally recognized borders.
