The position of Georgia’s Minister of Foreign Affairs may be classified as one of the highest diplomatic posts.
In addition, the minister will be eligible to receive the diplomatic rank of Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary.
Corresponding amendments expanding the list of highest diplomatic positions are being introduced to the Law “On Diplomatic Service.” The bill has already been registered in the Parliament of Georgia.
Conferring the highest diplomatic rank upon the Minister of Foreign Affairs also entails a monthly salary supplement of 1,360 lari.
