“Under the rule of the ‘Kotsi’ [Georgian Dream] regime, Georgia has become immeasurably more economically dependent on Russia, immeasurably more politically tied to the fascist RF, and less and less independent, as well as less and less promising from the perspective of Euro-Atlantic integration,” stated Grigol Gegelia, one of the leaders of the Lelo – Strong Georgia party, commenting on the statement of the official representative of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation, Maria Zakharova.
Earlier, she had stated that “despite the EU’s crude attempts to impose a confrontational course toward Moscow on Georgia, Georgia has made a choice in favor of a multi-vector policy.” According to Gegelia, everything Georgia lost in the Euro-Atlantic direction has increased in the Russian and post-Soviet directions.
“Zakharova, a propagandist for the fascist regime, confirms in black and white very clearly what we are all talking about and what we see.
“Lelo – Strong Georgia has been talking about this for several years, relying, among other things, on data published by the European Parliament a few years ago. It then emerged that between 2016 and 2022, trade with the European Union was halved, while over the same six-year period, trade with Russia and the CIS countries doubled.
All of this proves that under this pro-Russian, shameful, anti-Georgian regime, everything was done to turn Georgia into a lagging state, completely tied to the musty Russian orbit,” Gegelia stated.
