Tsulukiani: I myself do not like Judge Murusidze

Tea Tsulukiani, a Georgian Dream MP and Georgia’s former Minister of Justice and Culture, has stated that she herself does not like the sanctioned judge Levan Murusidze, who was once condemned as a representative of the judicial system during the rule of the National Movement.

According to her, Murusidze is currently independent of political will, and this is a “much greater good” than whether or not she likes him because of his past.

“Believe it or not, Levan Murusidze and <all> the former judges are today independent of political figures, and I consider this a much greater good than what I think about whom. This should not matter, although for me personally, of course, it does matter what I think of a particular person,” Tsulukiani said.

As a reminder, Levan Murusidze is a judge from the era of the political team of the third president, Mikheil Saakashvili, who reviewed the murder case of bank manager Sandro Girgvliani. With his involvement, the sentences of those convicted in this case were reduced in July 2007.

Murusidze is under UK and US sanctions.
