The Tbilisi City Court has found 13 people guilty in the “October 4 storming” case near the Presidential Palace on Atoneli Street:
- Kakhaber Kvachantiradze, Simon Maharadze, Gia Toloraia, Avtandil Topchishvili, Mikheil Toloraia, Yuri Lomidze, Giorgi Talakhadze, Davit Giunashvili, Saba Kordzaia, Giorgi Kirvalidze, Koba Epitashvili, Manuchar Mikeladze, and Beka Machavariani.
At the same time, plea bargains were reached with 12 of them, resulting in sentences of 1 year in prison and a 3-year suspended sentence.
One of the defendants, Manuchar Mikeladze, rejected the plea deal and was consequently sentenced to 5 years in prison.
An agreement on different terms was approved for only one defendant, Saba Kordzaia, who had already been convicted in another case and sentenced to 1 year and 6 months in prison: this same term of actual imprisonment was set for him in this case, along with a 3-year suspended sentence.
The time served is calculated from the date of detention, meaning that, with the exception of Saba Kordzaia and Manuchar Mikeladze, the remaining 11 convicts will be released from prison in 4 months.
During the announcement of the ruling, Giorgi Kirvalidze stated that he no longer wished to enter into a plea bargain with the prosecution, but by that time, he had already signed the document.
As a reminder, the 13 individuals detained in connection with the events of October 4, 2025 — Kakhaber Kvachantiradze, Simon Maharadze, Gia Toloraia, Avtandil Topchishvili, Mikheil Toloraia, Yuri Lomidze, Giorgi Talakhadze, Davit Giunashvili, Saba Kordzaia, Giorgi Kirvalidze, Koba Epitashvili, Manuchar Mikeladze, and Beka Machavariani — were charged under subparagraph “a” of Part 2 of Article 19-222 of the Criminal Code of Georgia, which covers attempted seizure and blocking of strategic or highly important facilities committed by a group of persons.
