Viktor Kipiani, head of the GeoCase analytical organization and former lawyer of “Georgian Dream” founder Bidzina Ivanishvili, has founded a new political party, “Georgia First” (“Jer Sakartvelo”). On June 28, the party’s founding congress elected Viktor Kipiani as its chairman.
The political council includes: Vakhtang Kapanadze, Valeri Chechelashvili, Rusudan Tevzadze, Nikoloz Khatiashvili, and Giorgi Antadze.
The co-founders and advisors of the party are Nikoloz Alavidze and Giorgi Tumasyan.
Giorgi Shalamberidze became the head of the audit commission, and its members are Beka Bochorishvili, Iveri Misriashvili, and Vasil Ivanov-Chikovani (a journalist who was dismissed from the GPB [Georgian Public Broadcaster] due to his appeals and solidarity with Mzia Amaglobeli — Ed.).
Zura Sharashenidze will take the post of executive secretary of the party.
“This is a decision prompted by time and the expectations that have formed in the country. Therefore, on our part, this is merely a formal response to these expectations. This day marks the beginning of a long journey. I hope this journey will be the answer to these expectations.
As for relations with other parties, we are open to communication with everyone. We have a specific approach to alliances. We believe that ‘Georgia First’ has the natural resources to develop outside of alliances, but this does not rule out personal communication and individual contacts. Such contacts have been, are, and will remain our hallmark,” Kipiani stated.
Additionally, Viktor Kipiani is a lawyer and analyst who, in the early 2010s, worked as an attorney for billionaire Bidzina Ivanishvili during his entry into politics and transition to governing Georgia following the victory of “Georgian Dream” in 2012.
Later, Kipiani focused on legal and analytical activities, becoming known as the head of the GeoCase analytical organization and an expert in international relations and law.
