A 14-year-old girl was killed in a road traffic accident in the village of Akhaldaba, Gori Municipality. A car struck the teenager the previous evening. An ambulance crew rushed the victim to the hospital, but doctors were unable to save her, and the schoolgirl succumbed to her injuries on the morning of September 6.
According to the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Georgia, the driver was operating the vehicle while intoxicated. He has already been detained. An investigation has been launched under Article 276 of the Criminal Code, which covers violation of traffic safety or vehicle operation rules.
