Russian Railways (RZD), which oversees the South Caucasus Railway, is launching an “international railway cruise” across Armenia and Georgia. The inaugural “RZD Tour” train, named “Two Hearts of the Caucasus” and running between Yerevan and Tbilisi, is scheduled to depart on October 30.
The three-day trip will cost at least 63,000 rubles (approximately $750) per person. Passengers will spend the nights aboard the train and explore the cities during the day.
The tour is being organized in cooperation with the South Caucasus Railway (SCR). Since SCR is a wholly owned subsidiary of JSC Russian Railways (RZD) and operates Armenia’s entire railway network, international services between Yerevan and Tbilisi are operated using its rolling stock and locomotives. RZD Tour is acting as the project’s primary tour operator and cruise organizer.
