Prime Minister of Georgia Irakli Kobakhidze met with Prime Minister of the Republic of Armenia Nikol Pashinyan in New York. The talks took place on the sidelines of the 81st session of the UN General Assembly.
According to the Georgian Government Administration, Kobakhidze congratulated Pashinyan on the 35th anniversary of the restoration of the independence of the Republic of Armenia and wished the friendly Armenian people peace, stability, and prosperity. The Georgian Prime Minister also congratulated his Armenian counterpart on his election victory and expressed readiness to further deepen the strategic partnership between the two countries.
According to the press service, the meeting reaffirmed the successful cooperation between Tbilisi and Yerevan across various fields and highlighted the importance of high-level political dialogue, which is reflected in tangible results in trade, economic, transport, and cultural domains, as well as in people-to-people contacts.
The sides also reviewed the current situation in the region and reaffirmed their commitment to contributing in every way possible to peace and stability in the South Caucasus.
Kobakhidze also commented on the meeting on X. According to the Prime Minister, the sides discussed Georgian-Armenian relations and ongoing developments in the region.
“In New York, I had the opportunity to meet with the Prime Minister of Armenia, Nikol Pashinyan. During the meeting, we discussed Georgian-Armenian relations and ongoing regional processes, and reaffirmed our shared commitment to ensuring peace, stability, and prosperity in the region.”
