The Telavi District Court has ordered a citizen to pay 1,500 lari (around $580) for verbally insulting Tbilisi Mayor Kakha Kaladze.
The court examined the case based on an administrative report issued by the Hate Speech Unit of the Human Rights Protection Department under Georgia’s Ministry of Internal Affairs.
The case concerns a comment posted on social media by citizen Aleksi Kenchoshvili directed at Kakha Kaladze.
