In 2027, Salaries of Georgia’s Top Officials Will Rise to 208,200 Lari a Year

According to Georgia’s draft state budget for 2027, the base salary in the country’s public sector will increase to 1,735 lari (approximately $670). As a result, public sector wages will grow by 8.4%, and the total payroll fund will increase by 395 million lari (around $150 million).

As reported by the news outlet IPN, the increase in the base salary automatically triggers a rise in the salaries of individuals holding high-level state political positions, as their compensation is pegged to the civil service base salary and calculated by multiplying it by a legally established coefficient.

Consequently, in 2027, the monthly salary of the President of Georgia will amount to 17,350 lari (about $6,700, calculated as the established base salary multiplied by the approved coefficient of 10), which totals 208,200 lari on an annualized basis.

Under the same formula, the salaries of the Prime Minister and the Chairman of Parliament will also amount to 17,350 lari per month, or 208,200 lari per year.

As for ministerial salaries, a different coefficient of 8.5 applies; accordingly, the salary of ministers will reach 14,747.5 lari (about $5,700) per month, amounting to 176,970 lari annually.

According to the same calculation formula and the initial draft budget, the salary of a Member of Parliament will be 13,880 lari (around $5,300) per month, or 166,560 lari per year.
