Yandex Disruptions Spill Over into Georgia

Over the past few days, Ukrainian drones have targeted data centers belonging to the Russian tech company Yandex three times. The latest strike hit a facility in Vladimir Oblast overnight on October 11.

The strikes caused malfunctions across several widely used digital services in Russia, including Yandex Go, Yandex Pay, Yandex Market, and Yandex Cloud. The company stated that it is currently unable to provide a timeline for when its services will be fully restored.

“We continue to assess the condition of the infrastructure—at this stage, it is very difficult to give a timeframe for restoring the equipment at the data centers. We will provide updates as new information becomes available.”

Beyond Russia, Yandex also operates in the Georgian market, where it has been present since 2016. In Georgia, the company is primarily known for its ride-hailing and delivery services. According to local media reports, following the strike on the data center in Vladimir Oblast, the Russian tech giant’s services experienced intermittent outages across Georgia for roughly 24 hours.

Users reported instability in the Yandex Go app alongside navigation glitches. Georgian drivers also took to social media to report system failures that prevented them from receiving incoming orders.
