United National Movement Demands High Treason Case Against Georgian Dream Leaders

The opposition United National Movement (UNM) party is demanding a criminal investigation against the leadership of Georgian Dream under the high treason statute. UNM member Mariam Dolidze has submitted a formal petition to the Prosecutor’s Office.

“Ivanishvili’s Prime Minister—Kobakhidze, Shalva Papuashvili, Tea Tsulukiani, Nino Tsilosani—these people, despite having usurped power, represent our country today. And if anyone is capable of causing real harm to our country, it is precisely these servants of Russia, who, through their anti-national, anti-state, anti-Western, and insulting statements directed at our European and Western partners, are directly violating Article 78 of the Constitution of Georgia!

And today, it is these very individuals who sit in judgment of the Georgia of Merab Kostava and Zviad Gamsakhurdia! These people are branding Antsukhelidze, Romelashvili, and all those who shed blood for this country’s freedom and sacrificed their lives as criminals,” Dolidze stated.

She called on the Prosecutor’s Office to immediately open an investigation into the four “traitors to the homeland who constantly attack our European partners, discredit Western institutions, and fuel anti-Western sentiments.”

“Under Ivanishvili’s dictation, these people are dragging us at full throttle into a terrorist, Putinist, murderous Russia,” the opposition politician added.
