Tether has officially presented its investment project in Georgia and announced the launch of its operations in the country.
The presentation was attended by Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze, representatives of the government and parliament, as well as the business and technology sectors.
Tether CEO Paolo Ardoino presented the project to the public.
Tether is an international technology company operating in digital finance and asset management. As part of its entry into the Georgian market, the company announced plans to invest in various sectors of the economy.
One of the key areas of cooperation will be the development of a digital counterpart to the Georgian lari—a project named GELt. The company also announced its intention to invest in social and educational initiatives.
The Georgian authorities view Tether’s entry as a step that could boost international investor interest in the country and foster the development of the digital economy.
