TV Pirveli owner Vato Tsereteli has introduced the channel’s new director and the updated composition of its Public Advisory Council.
As he announced on social media, the post of the channel’s new director will be assumed by Levan Jorbenadze, the former head of strategic communications for the “Lelo – Strong Georgia” coalition.
“The core values of TV Pirveli have always remained independence, objectivity, and accountability to society. Maximizing transparency and engaging the audience in the channel’s development and daily operations is a key priority for our team. Along this path, the time has come to advance to a qualitatively new, modern level of development and implement cutting-edge media standards.
By decision of our team and myself, TV Pirveli’s Public Advisory Council has been established, which I will chair personally. The council brings together authoritative representatives of the media, cultural, and civil society sectors: Irakli Melashvili, Dodo Shonava, Giorgi Mshvenieradze, Gia Khukhashvili, David Dzidzishvili, Irakli Apakidze, Zaal Udumashvili, Inga Grigolia, and Tamar Jincharadze. These specialists will contribute to generating new ideas, driving the channel’s comprehensive development, and actively involving citizens in these processes.
At our first working meeting, I presented the candidacy of the new director, Levan Jorbenadze, to the council; he will help translate these plans into reality. I am confident that these changes will expand our capabilities and mark the beginning of a new chapter in TV Pirveli’s development,” wrote Vato Tsereteli on social media.
Notably, the position of the television company’s Director General had been held by Vato Tsereteli himself until now. Levan Jorbenadze, who led strategic communications for the “Lelo – Strong Georgia” political coalition, stepped down from his role a month ago.
