A major fire broke out at the Delisi business center in Tbilisi. More than 15 fire engines were deployed to the scene to contain the blaze.
The business center houses the offices of the Formula television company. Heavy smoke spread through its studios and newsroom, where more than 20 staff members were present. Fire and rescue crews reached them and advised the journalists to remain in place, assuring them that they were currently in the safest area.
It was later reported that the channel’s staff had been successfully evacuated, assisted outside by firefighters.
According to the Emergency Management Service, all occupants have now been evacuated from the business center. The fire has been completely extinguished, and no injuries were reported.
Due to the blaze, Formula TV was forced to abruptly suspend its broadcast.
“There is an emergency in our building; it is filled with smoke,” anchor Irakli Kiknavelidze said live on air, after which the transmission was cut.
